Update on the Judges' Newsletter on International Child Protection

The PB is pleased to announce the publication of the Vol. XXV / Spring-Summer 2024 edition of the Judges' Newsletter on International Child Protection (Judges’ Newsletter). The Judges’ Newsletter provides information on the latest developments relating to the HCCH Children’s Conventions, with the intention of facilitating judicial cooperation in the field of international child protection.

This latest edition of the Judges’ Newsletter, which is available for download on the HCCH website, is dedicated to the Conclusions and Recommendations (C&Rs) adopted by the Eighth Meeting of the Special Commission (SC) on the Practical Operation of 1980 Child Abduction and 1996 Child Protection Conventions, which took place from 10 to 17 October 2023. Vol. XXV of the Judges’ Newsletter accompanies the C&Rs and aims to provide context and insight into the background of the discussions during the SC that ultimately led to the language of the adopted C&Rs.

The next edition of the Judges’ Newsletter, Vol, XXVI / Autumn-Winter 2024, will cover the Experts’ Meeting on Nurturing the 1980 Hague Convention, held at the University of Westminster in October 2023. It will be published in early 2025. Later in the year, Vol. XXVII / Spring-Summer 2025 will cover the conference “15 years of the HCCH Washington Declaration: Progress and perspectives on international family relocation”, to be held in April 2025.

The full collection of editions of the Judges Newsletter, including Vol. XXV, is available for download on the HCCH website.
