Nicaragua accedes to the 1965 Service Convention
On 24 July 2019, Nicaragua deposited its instrument of accession to the HCCH Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters (“Service Convention”).
The Service Convention, which now has 75 Contracting Parties, will enter into force for Nicaragua on 1 February 2020, in the absence of an objection from a Contracting Party having already ratified the Convention (pursuant to Art. 28).
More information is available on the Service Section of the HCCH website.
In addition to the Service Convention, Nicaragua is a Contracting Party to 5 other HCCH Conventions (Apostille, Evidence, Child Abduction, Child Protection and Child Support). Nicaragua is not yet a Member of the HCCH.
