2019 Judgments Convention enters into force for Uruguay

Today, 1 October 2024, the Convention of 2 July 2019 on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters (2019 Judgments Convention) entered into force for the Oriental Republic of Uruguay following the deposit of its instrument of ratification on 1 September 2023.
At present, 30 HCCH Members are either bound by the 2019 Judgments Convention or a Contracting Party for which the Convention has not entered into force yet (United Kingdom). More information on this Convention is available on the Judgments Section of the HCCH website.
Uruguay has been a Member of the HCCH since 1983 and is a Contracting Party to five HCCH Conventions.
