Tenth meeting of the Experts’ Group on Parentage / Surrogacy
From 15 to 19 November 2021, the HCCH Experts’ Group on Parentage / Surrogacy met for the tenth time. The meeting was held via videoconference and was attended by 38 experts representing 23 Member States, one Regional Economic Integration Organisation and three Observers, as well as members of the Permanent Bureau of the HCCH.
The Group discussed the form, structure and focus of the final report that is to be presented to the Council on General Affairs and Policy (CGAP) at its 2023 meeting. The Group also continued its discussions on the feasibility of advancing work with respect to a possible Protocol on the recognition of legal parentage established as a result of an (international) surrogacy arrangement.
The Experts’ Group will meet again in March 2022, before submitting its final report for the 2023 CGAP meeting.
