Hague Conference has now 56 Member States
On 23 October 2001, Lithuania, after having been admitted as a new Member State, accepted the Statute of the Hague Conference and has thus become the 56th Member State of the Organisation. Lithuania was already a Party to the Hague Conventions on legalisation, on service abroad of documents, on obtaining of evidence abroad, on maintenance obligations (applicable law), on access to justice, and intercountry adoption.
