APEC Workshop on the Ease of Doing Business through Hague Conventions
The Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Workshop on the Ease of Doing Business through Hague Conventions was held on Tuesday 12 August 2014 in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. The Workshop was organised by the Department of Justice of Hong Kong, China, in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Regional Office of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH).
The Workshop was attended by over 40 participants from 12 of the APEC Member Economies as well as international organisations, including government officials, judges, academics and practitioners. Christophe Bernasconi (Secretary General of the HCCH), Anselmo Reyes (Representative of the HCCH Asia Pacific Regional Office) and Ignacio Goicoechea (Representative of the HCCH Latin America Regional Office, present via video-link) all gave presentations during the workshop, detailing in particular the benefits of the Apostille, Service, Evidence and Choice of Court Conventions.
