On Tuesday, 28 June 2005, Paraguay, after having been admitted as a new Member State, accepted the Statute of the Hague Conference and has thus become the 65th Member State of the Organisation. Paraguay was already a Party to two Hague Conventions - the 1980 Convention on international child abduction and the 1993 Convention on intercountry adoption.
