Deputy Secretary General Catherine Kessedjian Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite
At a reception given at his residence on 5 July 2000, the Ambassador of France to the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr Bernard de Faubournet de Montferrand, conferred on Mrs Catherine Kessedjian, Deputy Secretary General, the insignia of Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite. This distinction was awarded to Mrs Kessedjian for her services during the last eighteen years in upholding the civil law tradition and for her work with the Hague Conference on private international law.
Present at the ceremony were, apart from the members of the Diplomatic Mission of France at The Hague, Judges Parra-Aranguren and Pocar, the Chairman of the Standing Government Committee on Private International Law, Professor A.V.M. Struycken, the members of the Permanent Bureau and personal friends of Mrs Kessedjian.
