Conference “Cross-border Enforcement of Judgments - An Australian, UK and Global Perspective”, London, (16 November 2015)
On 16 November 2015, the British Institute of International and Comparative Law hosted an event looking at various issues arising in relation with the cross-border enforcement of judgments. In his keynote speech, The Hon RS French AC, Chief Justice of Australia, focused on recent decisions of the High Court of Australia on questions such as the registration and enforcement of foreign judgments as well as foreign State immunities in relation to the enforcement of judgments. In the talk she delivered, First Secretary Prof. Marta Pertegás illustrated the work undertaken by the Hague Conference on Private International Law on recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (the "Judgments Project").
